[India] Saint-Gobain To Delay Float Glass Plant

Saint-Gobain Glass India's new float plant in Rajasthan, which was to have gone onstream in the first quarter of 2010, will be postponed for a year. The company is waiting for the State Government to acquire all the land needed (150 acres) for the project, before it begins construction. The delay in the project coincided with the slowdown in the economy. Mr B Santhanam, MD of Saint-Gobain Glass India, said the plant will begin production in 2011.
