Despite steady growth in the local beer, spirits, food and pharmaceuticals markets, India's glass container sector continues to register low growth rates, suffering from low capacity utilisation as a number of factors limit glass bottle usage. With an estimated installed capacity of around 12,000/tpd, the industry is operating at a capacity utilisation of between 72-75%.
