[India] Asahi Plant Goes Onstream

The first phase of Asahi India's plant at Irungattukottai went onstream in March, advancing the timetable for investment in the next two phases. At a press conference, MD Sanjay Labroo, said the company would invest around Rs620M during 2005/6 to make tempered glasses and expand laminated windshield capacity. He expects tempered glass to be produced at the Chennai facility by Autumn 2005.
