Increasing The Capacity Of Existing Flat Glass Systems.

Basically a resume of future plans to increase output at a number of existing plants. This involves either increasing the total strip width by modifying existing machines or installing more machines on the same furnace. Diagrams of furnace layout are shown for two of the plants. To meet the increased drawing capacity the furnaces are to be run at a higher melting temperatures and consequently use higher quality refractories and the flame coverage of the clear surface of the melt is to be increased.
