Increase Quality And Save Costs By Means Of Measuring Equipment

The customer's demands for higher quality glass products are well known. Particularly, the dimensions of the product have to be kept within narrow tolerances while, at the same time, production output has to be increased for economic reasons. Opto-electronic measuring equipment opens up excellent opportunities for process and quality control. These devices operate without contacting the glass product using camera systems and lasers and very often 100% control can be achieved. Also, other options such as sorting, regulation, graphic trend display and statistical evaluation are available making this equipment a complete production process and quality control tool. This article deals with some of the opto-electronic measuring devices that are available for the hollow, float and tubing industries.
