Higher production speeds associated with the use of alumninium bronze mould components mean that in comparison with traditional cast iron moulds, the demand for frequent repair and maintenance of components can be greater. However, a number of methods now exist for improving the wear resistance of these moulds, thereby increasing their lifetime.
