Improving Process Control

With Siglas Top Roller, video images of the top rollers and current process data re displayed on TFT monitors in the control centre so that the top rollers can be observed and monitored. The video system is directly linked to the automation system via function blocks. The Simatic PCS 7 process control system supplies measurement data such as temperature and flow sped of the melted glass which can then be inserted into the live pictures so that concurrent video images and process data can be displayed simultaneously. For purposes of orientation, the operator can directly set a marker anywhere in the video image by simply clicking the mouse, thus obtaining a better overview of any change in flow, angle or position. It is also possible to display 4 or 8 different images on a connected TFT monitor at the same time.
