Improvements In Or Relating To The Manufacture Of Flat (Float) Glass.

During the manufacture of flat glass by the float process, the uptake of contaminants by the bottom surface of the glass ribbon is reduced by impeding the transfer of impurities in the molten metal from parts of the bath surface which are exposed to the atmosphere over the bath. Physical barriers are provided in the metal bath to prevent a direct flow of molten metal from the exposed areas to the metal-glass interface.
