With the wish to improve the energy efficiency of furnaces for the clear benefits of lower costs and improved market competitivity, the authors of this article look beyond the most commonly known factors. Their research has led to the creation of a convection current control boost system, whose application in a small to medium sized oil-fired furnace is evaluated here.
