Immobilisation Of Radioactive And Non-Radioactive Wastes In Glass- Based Systems: An Overview

Glass-based systems used or proposed for immobilising radioactive wastes are reviewed and compared with systems suggested for immobilising non- radioactive wastes. The experiences gained in the nuclear field, and how these can be put to good advantage in the development of new glass-based systems and facilities for immobilising non-radioactive wastes, are highlighted.
