Hydrophobic (Water-Repellent) Coatings

Diamon-Fusion International (DFI) is the global developer and exclusive supplier of Diamon-Fusion hydrophobic technology, which improves and protects the surfaces of glass. DFI began supplying a new version of the coating earlier this year which features the latest enhancements that increase its resistance to abrasion and expand its durability. The enhanced hydrophobic technology provides a molecular change on the treated surface which creates a covalent bond. This is chemically the strongest possible bond that a hydrophobic coating can furnish; in a covalent bond the electrons are shared by the glass and the coating itself, so the coating becomes part of the glass. It can make the treated surface water repellent; scratch and impact resistant; resistant to stains and graffiti; and also gives around 20% added brilliance. See www.dfitechnology.com
