A third tender for the sale of bankrupt Polish glassworks HS Orzesze was opened on 31 January 2005, the company receiver said. The deadline for offers is 3 March 2005 and a deposit of PLN 3.0 million (USD 967,400/EUR 742,500) is required. The identity of the winner will be announced on 7 March 2005. HS Orzesze was declared bankrupt at the end of January 2004 after several failed attempts at privatisation. The company employed 239 at the time of bankruptcy. The receiver put HS Orzesze on sale at PLN 19.1 million (USD 6.2 million/EUR 4.7 million) in the first tender in July 2004. The price was reduced to PLN 17.2 million (USD 5.5 million/EUR 4.3 million) for the second tender, held in November 2004. HS Orzesze reported a net loss of PLN 4.0 million (USD 1.3 million/EUR 990,000) for 2003.
