In this article the Sales Director of Stolzle-Oberglas, gives his opinion as to how glass manufacturers can ride the recession and comments on Stolzle's experience in this time of uncertainty. When a credit crunch bites, the end-product market for luxury goods will almost certainly suffer. With UK unemployment heading for 3M by the end of 2009, and likely to exceed this, customers are losing confidence in the immediate future - and the market for such items as perfumery, toiletries, cosmetics and personal care is shrinking. Though the UK has seen recessions come and go for the 30y or more, there is a general feeling that this one is different. Previous recessions did not affect the banking area.
