Hot-End Coating To Protect Glass Containers

In the surface treatment of glass articles such as bottles, flasks, plates etc., BM2000 and Vidromecanica have developed two complementary systems for distinct technologies: hot-end coating and cold-end coating. This takes place before and after the annealing lehr (for thermal treatment to eliminate glass tensions). The glass manufacturer saves material and every due to lighter glass and higher production efficiency. Vidromecanica uses CVC technology on the hot end coating hoods, situated after the forming machine. The process of using chemical vapour deposition (CVD) for hot-end coatings is explained in this article.
