Hollow Glass Industry Overview

This article takes a look at recent developments in the hollow glass sector over the last few years. Manufacturers are developing products and building energy-saving production facilities to secure their future. Product design and weight are important elements, as are shapes and the fact that glass is inert, meaning there is virtually no interaction between the container and the product, making glass an excellent packaging material for numerous products. According to the Glass Packaging Action Form (an initiative of the German glass container industry), there has been a 39% European-wide increase in the consumption of products packaged in glass.
