The Hollow Glass Industry In The Middle East

Located at the cross-roads between the east and the west, where tradition welcomes modernity, the United Arab Emirates is not only a fantastic regional hub, but also tremendously growing business capital. This federation of several Emirates; Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah,Ras Al Khai-Mah, Fujairah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain, is one of the wealthiest in the region with a GDP per capita of US$29,000. Much of the development has been due to the country's vast oil and gas reserves, forming some 30% of GDP. Although the UAE remains fairly dependent on oil, economic diversification measures are constantly taken to shift the economy from being highly dependent on oil prices.
