History Of Novy Svet Glassworks In The First Half Of The 19Th Century (Czech)

Harrachov Glassworks in Neuwelt, Novy Svet, was said to be the best producer of decorated glass in the first half of the 19th century. A crucial role for achieving this was played by the director of the glassworks, Johann Pohl, who led the factory for 42 years, from 1808 to 1850. Johan Pohl wsa not just a specialist in the field of glass technology, but also an exceptional organiser and economist. This can be seen in the brief cultural historical summary presented in this article.
