Screenprinting has the ability to print relatively thick deposits of ink in the form of lines or shapes. One such example is conductive inks for automobile windows, for antenna or heater elements. However, if a typical emulsion coated wet-on-wet is used, there will be a high roughness and the printed line will show "positive sawtoothing" where the ink leaks under the poor gasket between the stencil and the substrate. In this paper the authors examine the problems for roughness, sawtoothing a high EOM in automotive screenprinting.
