Heating Up The Glass Industry

The introduction of the high velocity burner system for heat-up of all types and sizes of glass furnaces in the 1960s radically changed that aspect of a glass plant's operations; nowadays, few glass factories would contemplate starting up a furnace in any other way. Through four decades of working closely with the industry, Hotwork has recognised numerous other areas where glass producers have encountered difficulties with certain tasks, especially those surrounding a furnace cold repair, and has sought to find and develop a solution to these problems. In some cases the solution, although improving on the original situation, has brought with it a new set of problems; Hotwork has set to work towards eliminating those secondary difficulties, as explained in this article.
