Heat Transfer Effects In Glass Processing

Thermal effects in glasses under melting, cooling, and forming conditions are investigated using GlassPro, a new tool for interactive computing. Interactive computing allows for the immediate use of computer models with no additional development work. The absorption coefficient of a soda-lime-silica glass is assigned various values, and the effects of these changes on glass behaviour in melting, cooling, and secondary heating are investigated.
