According to recent reports, two of the leading German pharmaceutical glass producers are considering expanding in Russia, through the establishment of their production facilities in the local market. German manufacturer Bayer, recently announced plans to start production in Russia. The production of Type I pharmaceutical glass is expected to be launched at the capacities of the Ural glass plant, one of Russia's largest glass factories. In addition, Schott Glass, has recently announced its plans to establish a plant for the production of pharmaceutical glass in Russia. Their new plant is expected to be opened in the Bor district of the Nizhny Novgorod region during 2014-15.
