Growing Public Safety Concerns About Bpa

In response to rising concerns among consumers and many in the scientific community, policymakers in countries around the world have increasingly been examining the issue of bisphenol-A (BPA) in food and beverage packaging, particularly where infants and children are concerned. For example, in 2008, Canadian health authorities proposed labelling BPA a toxic chemical and announced that they were drafting regulations that would ban polycarbonate feeding bottles and drinking cups. While the US regulatory wheels have moved slowly, policymakers and manufacturers alike have taken action. As US regulation continues to evolve, concerns about bisphenol-A are growing.
