Grand Design Is A Glass Delight

Pilkington's Suncool solar control lass is a big feature of the Best New Home in the Grand Designs Award. "Trees" is a beautifully designed, four bedroom house in Somerset and uses 45 square metres of Pilkington Suncool Brilliant 66/33 solar control glass to form the majority of the home's ground floor. The glass walls are an impressive design feature in an ingenious combination of form and function, which has seen the house receive a national accolade - overall winner in the Telegraph's Homebuilding & Renovating Awards. The house was designed and built by its owners, architects Jim & Rebecca Dyer of RD Architects Ltd, who stated that they wanted to make sure the house wouldn't overheat in the summer, but also keep the heat in during winter, and said that Suncool Brilliant had performed fantastically.
