Glazing Perspectives At The Frankfurt Motor Show 1997 (Part 1)

The 1997 Frankfurt Motor Show demosntrated that the main demands on glazing from designers and car makers are for complex shape, all round visibility, comfort, with ergonomic colour for the interior of the car, and safety, guaranteed by protection glass and plastic lenses. This two-part report examines the implications of these demands and how glazing manufacturers are meeting htem. It also assesses the very scanty presence of glassmakers at the show, except for Saint-Gobain, with its new Venus glass.
