Glazing Influence On The Seismic Resistance Of Prefabricated Timber-Framed Buildings

Importance of building large-size glazing into timber structures has significantly grown over the last decade. This was one of the major reasons for carrying out the presented experimental seismic research on timber structures with a fixed glazing placed in the external sides of the timber-frame wall elements. The whole analysis was performed on the shaking table in IZIIS (Skopje). Tested one and two-story test samples demonstrated an excellent behaviour under seismic excitation up to 150% of the modified Landers and Petrovac recorded earthquake accelerations with practical no damage in glass or in adhesive.
