Glaverbel is to build a second production line for float glass at its Klin plant in the Moscow region, in response to high demand for glass due to a sustained growth in Russia. The new float plant will have production capacity of around 1000/tpd of clear float glass, representing an investment of about 135M Euros. In addition to supplying the group's national distribution network, it will feed the mirror & super insulating glass production units at Glaverbel Klin. The float line will be Glaverbel's fourth in Russia, generating over 100 jobs. Klin was chosen because of the speed with which the new line can be up and running while keeping costs under control. Construction will begin during the second quarter of 2007 & the new production line is scheduled to be operational by the beginning of 2009.
