Glassmaker Picks Polysigma

Santos Barosa of Portugal, will equip its plant with Polysigma systems from XPAR Vision. The first six systems were installed over a two year period which began in February 2004. Santos has purchased the system for all its remaining production lines after achieving excellent results with the XPAR equipment in terms of higher product quality, less rejects and higher pack-to-melt ratio. The XPAR Polysigma is an infrared single camera system designed for hot end process monitoring, inspection and control. Santos Barosa will also install the first XPAR satellite camera. This hardware add-on is retrofitted to the Polysigma system in order to enhance performance of inspection and process monitoring.
