Glasshape Ltd Specialist Glass Products recently announced that year-to-date sales of its DuraShield Superyacht & Marine Glass are up 42% compared to the same period a year ago. The DuraSheild line represents 30% of the Warkworth, NZ glass manufacturers's total sales. "The quality of the glass supplied by Glasshape was simply amazing." said David C Porter, Director at McMullen & Wing. The shipyard recently completed 148ft Big Fish, a superyacht which features 160 flat and curved panels, including many floor-to-ceiling windows. The Durashield product line satisfies all performance and safety standards, including: BSMA 25; MCA LY2; ISO 21005 and ISO 614. Tests witnessed by Lloyds Register demonstrated that the glass provided a minimum of 20% additional performance and safety margins.
