Glass Thickness At The Bottom Of The Parison Caused By The Baffle

In glassware, the thickness of items is often determined by the parison profile, suitable for the shape of blow moulds for production with automatic IS machines. The biggest problems that occur on small bottles are caused by the non-homogeneity of the glass, incorrect parison profile, profile and depth of a not-suitable baffle, and so on. Given the numerous different types of glass items manufactured, this article illustrates problems that could occur by means of sketches, highlighting some solutions to be used to improve the glass thickness.
