Glass Temperature Survey Probes

Difficult measurements such as the temperature uniformity of glass across the width of the bath in the float process and plate, and float glass temperatures during the cooling and annealing processes can now be undertaken simply and rapidly, according to Land Instruments. The company's JRG/A glass thermometer survey probe can be used in applications such as: lehr and float bath; spot checks for production control; extended surveys for investigation; commissioning; and research and development. The unit comprises a miniature radiation thermometer only 28mm diam x 43mm long, which measures radiation originating from the surface of the glass and a water-cooled probe incorporating an air purge to cool the thermometer and keep the window free from dirt and condensation.
