Glass-Reinforced Plastic Foam

Polyurethane foams were reinforced by incorporation of 1-20% of glass fibre or flake of thickness or diameter less than 0.015in and length (formula) in. The glass elements could be wetted to secure better distribution in the mass. Alternatively the glass could be introduced as fabric into a confined space and the polyurethane expanded therein to fill the remaining room.
