Glass Production Begins At New Russian Plant

Float glass production has begun at Guardian's newest facility in Ryazan, Russia. The plant will produce around 750/tpd architectural glass. It will also include a coating line to enable the manufacturer to produce high-performance coated glass products. Guardian said its investment in Russia is a natural progression following investments in central and eastern Europe. Lajos Sapi, group VP of Central/Eastern Europe said: "This was the right time for Guardian to move into this growing region. The decision to build in Ryazan fits with our global strategy and our marketing considerations."
