Glass-Like Pet Bottle For Wine

PET Engineering has launched a PET wine bottle in the form of a classic glass bottle that recalls the silhouette of a typical bordolese wine bottle, the company says. It has the cylinder shape, pronounced shoulder & concave bottom, & is closed by an aluminium cap & a BVS finish similar to those now used for screw caps on glass wine bottles. PET Engineering collaborated with Constar International, the US-based company that developed a preform designed ad hoc & made up of a barrier material in Monoxbar monolayer. It weighs 50g & ensures resistance to axial load during bottling. The bottle can be filled on ordinary glass bottle lines & can be blown on any machine, the company says.
