Glass Panels Subjected To Dynamic Impulse Loads

In a recent study, glass panes subjected to dynamic impact loads were investigated experimetally using the impact testing procedure described in the standard EN 12600 and by numerical simulations. A finite element model that predicted the impact test described in the standard was developed. It captured the strain history observed in the testing. By applying the developed analysis techniques to other glass geometries and support conditions, important conclusions of the impact strength of glass constructions can be made.
