The growing internationalisation of the industry has seen United Glass successfully develop long term contracts with top UK and EU brewers. While new product development is booming, environmental legislation could be potentially damaging. UG considers investment in design, technical service personnel and systems is just as important as its commitment to new production machines and furnaces and has been carrying out a customer research project, in order to highlight areas for improvement and opportunity. In addition to the triple gob forming machine at Alloa, the Group also invested £10M on warehousing at Harlow and plans to announce the location of a brand new facility in the USA, which will supply Aneuser Busch's new state-of-the-art brewery and packaging complex.
