A 2006 survey of 752 US respondents conducted by Newton Marketing & Research found that while they purchase products in a variety of packaging, they significantly prefer the attributes of glass for quality, purity, taste, product protection, and shelf life. Among organic consumers, there is an increased preference for glass packaging. Glass is especially favoured for beers, wines, sauces, condiments, jellies and baby food.
