Glass Mosaic Tesserae Catalogation By Colorimetric Measurements (In Italian)

Mosaic tesserae are produced by glass factories following ancient recipes either using different colorants and opacifiers or by application of metal foils. The production technique allows ionic or colloidal coloration to be obtained with several shades according to the requirements of the user. Starting from the reflectance curve recorded in the visible range, it is possible to quantify the colour of each tesserae by attributing values to a term of chromatic parameters obtained following the procedures established by Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage.
