Glass Injection Device Protects Against Allergic Reactions

For people severely allergic to bee stings, peanuts or other allergens, an antidote and a ready means of administering it is available in the US. A prescription drug, Epinephrine, a synthetic adrenaline, can be administered timely from a chemically strengthened Type 1 borosilicate glass cartridge, making the forceful auto-injection quite safe. Glass is a necessary part of this device. This article looks at the chemical process used to produce the strengthened glass.
