The Glass Industry - Taking Environmental Responsibilites Seriously

The deadline of 30 June 2006 has passed when all member states of the EU were supposed to have presented their National Allocation Plans for Phase II of EUETS to Brussels for consideration by the Commission. Whilst there is some divergence of view amongst industrialists as to the scheme itself, there is universal concern about the way in which Phase I has been implemented - & the speed at which Phase II plans are being put together. The lack of harmonisation across the EU on the way in which allocation plans have been arrived leads to competitive distortions across the EU.
