Glass Group Set To Finish Hiring New Workers

Gerresheimer Group, the new owner of the Glass Group Inc. factory in Millville, NJ, expected to finalize hiring workers in the week commencing 17 Oct/05, a spokesman said. The plant officially joined the Gerresheimer Group on 8 Oct/05 following approval by the federal bankruptcy court on 19 Sept/05. Gerresheimer acquired the factory and Glass Group's share of a Beijing factory for about US$ 21.7M. The Chinese acquisition has already been finalized. The Millville factory will be operated as part of Kimble Glass Inc. a Gerresheimer holding. R Hasenauer, a vice president at Kimble, said the plant continues to operate on a 3-shift, 7-day schedule. The factory's workforce will be about 250.
