[Glass Furnaces] Stara Glass - Tested Solutions For Nox Containment In Regenerative Glass Furnaces

The generation of nitrogen oxides in very high temperature combustion is nowadays under every spotlight of the glass industry. Such production strongly depends on the presence of oxygen in the combustion environment but, while NOx comes from a high amount of O2, an undesired production of CO, which is another pollutant, also affects furnace energy performance, derives from a lack of oxidiser. Stara Glass has developed and tested several effective techniques for NOx containment, which is presented here, together with an analysis of the results of different tests performed on operating furnaces.
