Glass Design System

German-based Proglas, manufacturers CrystalCAD - a glass design system aimed at making the design and cutting of decorative glass easier and quicker. The firm says that CrystalCAD shares system resources with the computer control of the cutting machine which means less interfacing and simpler, safer operating. The realtime, 3-D display allows for immediate inspection of the piece under design in a three dimensional mode. CrystalCAD enables special patterns to be designed using custom-made cutting wheels. The direct transmission of the cutting parameters to the ProCut automatic cutting machine, also made by Proglas, makes it possible to design and produce even the small series economically.
