Glass-Crystalline Materials And Coatings With A Reaction-Formed Structure

The use of reaction sintering to produce glass ceramics with superior performance to those formed by controlled crystallisation is discussed with particular reference to materials based on mullite, lithium aluminosilicates and protective coatings on low-carbon steels.
