Glass Containers

Dr Gerhard Mayer, Syringe Project Specialist for Nuova Ompi, reviewed trends in pharmaceuticals packaging from vials and ampoules to prefillable syringes and prefillable cartridges. Although vials remain the most common form of pharmaceutical packaging, prefillable containers are growing much more rapidly. This is due to inherent benefits of prefillable containers for end-users and, therefore, for drugs and vaccines that pharmaceutical companies manufacture to best meet the drug packaging and drug delivery needs of their customers. With the wide variety of pharmaceutical companies can match the container and device that best fits their medication while still having ample opportunity to differentiate their product in the market.
