Hosted by Glass Technology Services, British Glass, WRAP & Faraday Packaging Partnership, the Glass Container Lightweighting Conference presented a review of work carried out to date in the WRAP-directed programme of lightweighting container designs at source. The project should culminate in reducing the amount of waste container glass going to landfill. The conference was well represented and presentations by Glass Technology Services, WRAP & Faraday covered the overview & outcomes of the original Container Lite project, the current state of the 4 newly entitled GlassRite projects (wine, food, spirits & beers), & the impacts of colour control. "Great interest has resulted from the conference & many attendees have demonstrated interest in further participation," said Dave Dalton, General Manager of Glass Technology Services.
