This article looks at the chemical composition and physical properties of glasses used in the assembling of cathode ray tubes (CRTs) and defines commercial production, together with the problems connected with recycling of end-of-life CRT glasses. Closed-loop recycling producing new CRTs and, where possible, alternate recycling routes (production of brick glass or glass for tableware) are considered.
