Glass And Photovoltaics: Two Worlds Continuously Moving Closer

The world of photovoltaic has, until now, been dominated by silicon. However, a potentially high cost reduction in PV can be found in what is called the second generation of photovoltaics: thin film technologies. This high potential cost reduction with thin films is due in particular to the possibility of large savings in the quantity of semiconductor material used to realise these devices and to the high level of automation that the production lines making these modules can reach.
