Glass And Directive 89/106 - Building And Construction Material

The European market has, up to now, been hindered in the free circulation of building and construction materials, due to various technical barriers. This situation will shortly be amended thanks to Directive 89/106/CEE and relative harmonising standards. By the middle of 2004, the first 15 harmonising standards regarding glass for construction use, destined to be part of 89/106/CEE will be ready. Compliance with the Directive, by means of the standards, will be obligatory testified by the CE mark. The main aim of the Directive is to remove the technical barriers that, at present, block the free circulation of building products on the EU market. This article lists the 15 harmonising standards of Directive 89/106/CEE
