Early in 1998, a group of Italian glass machinery manufacturers began talks with the Moscow office of the German agency Pressag Handel, their agent in Russia. The idea of introducing themselves to the Russian market was the aim of contact. An idea for a seminar, at which each of the Italian companies could present its technology to a selected audience arose and as a result a seminar was fixed for 28-29 April, 1998. Six Italian companies confirmed their participation; Antas Spa, Antonini Fosco & Figli Srl, Bottero Spa, GlassService Srl, Olivotto Sas, and Tenco 5 Srl. All these companies produce complementary equipment for hollow glass making, from batch houses to annealing and decorating lehrs to silk-screen printing machines. This article conveys the comments and opinions of those who were present.
