In this article, Ross Mackenzie of Solaglas talks about quality management & the group's new relationship with BM TRADA Certification. Quality management is one of his particular domains. It's an area where Solaglas & its parent, Saint-Gobain, are known to set high standards & where transparency is all important. Underlining its commitment to continuous improvement, the group carries out a rigorous programme of internal audits of systems, products & equipment, including daily product quality checks at each plant & daily monitoring of internal & external quality performance trends. Monthly independent laboratory testing of sample units a the speciality SG facility in Paris is carried out for every DGU line. These internal product quality standards, set by the group have, in fact, been determined at a higher level than required by the harmonised EU norms.
